Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo was a woman who went through many hardships in her life. She endured a life of a lot of pain caused by a bus accident she was in during her youth. Her strive, determination as well as the love of her life helps her overcome this and do what she was always born to do; become a painter. She wanted the world to know her work and have her recognized as a amazing woman painter. During the movie she meets the "love of her life" Rivera and unfortunately falls head over heels for him. Sadly, Rivera is not the right man for her because he constantly cheats. She falls too deep even knowing in the back of head he will never be faithful to her.  He soon almost takes away time from her painting so throughout the movie she ends up leaving him and pursuing her dream and what she cares about the most. Throughout this movie Frida is perceived as a strong, independent woman that does what's right by her towards the ending. Although, Frida knows he is not a good man she meets herself up for hurt throughout her life and runs back to a man she thinks she can not live without. This movie was not only based on her paintings but her strength even when everything falls and how even after so many breakups , she still comes back to her first true love.

  1. your movie review is incredibly interesting, sharing similar beliefs to mine. I, too belive Frida Kahlo was an inspirational artist that wasn't afraid to reveal her flaws and imperfections. She displayed self empowerment in a unique manner; in her art work. Her strength was exposed in her artwork, she would paint self portraits expressing her deepest emotions. The bus accident had influenced her life greatly but it didn't not hold her back from accomplishing great things. It only made her stronger and allowed her to develop more strength within her self as a true artist, not just a woman that was inferior and looked down upon during her time. She fell in love with Diego Rivera but he continued with his unfathfulness because he was destined to be that type of indivdual. Frida was immensely impacted by his infidelity, but she never grew weak until the long term side effects of the accident dominated her strength.
